Upcoming 2008 Race Season News
April 10, 2008
Dynojet sponsored Factory Aprilia Rip It Energy Fuel race team eagerly anticipates
the upcoming 2008 race season.
This year, Current AMA Unlimited champion Ben Carlson will be riding in the 450
class, and former runner up Darryl Atkins will focus on the Unlimited. Both riders
will compete on their Dynojet Power Commander and Quick Shifter equipped SXV 450
Aprilias at the two prestigious ESPN events. We are excited to have the continued
support of Amauri Nunes as head technician, along with our two additional mechanics,
John Weiss and Chuck McCarty.
The off season has been spent testing, and our extensive research and development
rendered a series of groundbreaking improvements on our Italian born machines. As
this continuous progression builds, it is beginning to set us apart from the competition.
Needless to say, we are excited to make our debut at the San Diego ESPN Moto X World
Championship on the 11th and 12th of April!
"We made the decision to focus on two individual AMA Championships, and are ready
to move forward with this new team structure." Says Team Manager Darryl Atkins.
"I have confidence that Benny will be very strong in the 450 class - following his
two year domination in the Unlimited class. He is ready to display his talent, and
we will support him 100% in anticipation of his success in the premier class.
As for me, I've experienced a remarkable recovery from my broken wrist in 2007.
Physical therapy, and progressive training have made a huge difference in the range
of movement. This upcoming season I will be working with former American Motocross
and Supercross champion Mike Bell for training and on track support. I'm feeling
confident as ever with our program, and am fired up for the season to start! The
2 ESPN events this coming season are a great bonus for us, and our affiliated sponsors.
Now that the AMA schedule has been settled, we are ready to go racing, and look
forward to seeing all of you at the track!"
